SERVICE ONE Mutual Limited is a financial services provider based in the ACT. We don't have customers - we have Members, and being founded on the principles of mutuality, we share the benefits of our profits with our Members and the broader community. Anyone can become a Member of SERVICE ONE and access the SERVICE ONE Alliance Bank products and services available through a unique alliance with Bendigo and Adelaide Bank (Bendigo Bank).

Opening a SERVICE ONE membership

Before being able to access SERVICE ONE Alliance Bank products and services on offer, you must first open a membership and purchase a Member share in SERVICE ONE Mutual Limited. Opening accounts and applying for access facilities is similar to opening an account and taking out products at any other banking institution - you just need to complete a membership application form, bring this into a Branch and provide identification.

As we are a Member-owned organisation, you will also be asked to purchase a Member share when opening your membership. Shares are $10 and we offer adult and junior (for those aged under 18 years) shares. These shares are completely refundable should you choose to close your membership in the future.

Not just financial products and services, but financial solutions

SERVICE ONE (in partnership with third parties and Bendigo Bank for the provision of SERVICE ONE Alliance Bank products and services), offers a vast range of financial solutions, delivered through real personal service, including:

  • savings and transaction accounts
  • investment options including Term Deposits
  • a complete range of competitive home loans - including variable rates, fixed rates and continuing credit
  • personal loans, car loans, credit cards and overdrafts
  • Visa Debit card with worldwide and online access to your own funds
  • insurance for home and contents, car, boat, caravan, loan protection, travel and more
  • foreign exchange services and foreign currency, international money transfers, and
  • small business banking - accounts, loans and electronic point-of-sale terminals.

PLUS, the convenience of 24-hour phone and Internet banking, and access to services such as BPAY, direct debit and credit, payroll deductions and personal cheque books.

At SERVICE ONE Alliance Bank, we take pride on the exceptional service standards provided to Members. This exceptional service is one of the reasons why we have so many long-standing Members. We understand our Members' financial needs.

Extensive Branch network

While many of us are conducting a large proportion of banking electronically these days, sometimes you just need to speak to someone face-to-face. With Branches across Canberra and surrounding NSW (and telephone support available seven days a week), you shouldn't have to travel too far to get to your local Branch.

rediATM access

Members have access to the rediATM network. With more than 3,500 ATMs across the country, access to cash is never far away. rediATM is the second largest ATM network in Australia and by using rediATMs, you can keep your ATM fees to a minimum and avoid direct charge fees.

Our approach to fees

Unlike some other banking providers, SERVICE ONE Alliance Bank accounts don't carry any account keeping fees. Deposit and loan balances are also used to calculate your Average Relationship Balance, and this is used to determine your monthly Fee Allowance to offset everyday withdrawal fees (refer to the Schedule of Fees and Charges for what constitutes a withdrawal).

SERVICE ONE Mutual Limited is run for the benefit of Members. The organisation now provides SERVICE ONE Alliance Bank products and services through a strategic alliance with Bendigo Bank. SERVICE ONE is part of a network of Alliance Banks - mutual organisations determined to make a difference in their respective communities through social enterprise initiatives.

If we look more locally, SERVICE ONE's origins go back to the universities in Canberra and at the South Coast over 50 years ago. We have strong ties with the public service sector, hospitals, universities and regional areas such as the South Coast and Snowies regions. So while we are a new identity in the marketplace, our origins are well established and we have a thorough understanding of the needs of our Members.
